Welcome to my personal blog Pinay on Clogs! Pinay on Clogs is rooted from the words “Pinay” meaning “Filipina” or woman from Philippines and “Clogs”, which is a wooden footwear associated in the Netherlands many centuries ago up to the present period.
Pinay on Clogs represents myself. I am a born Filipina who lives in the Netherlands for already 12 years and acquired the Dutch nationality in October 2019. This blog is a medium to share my views and experiences on living in the Netherlands. I first came to pursue my master (MSc) studies in 2010, then continued my PhD degree from 2012-2017. I currently work as an assistant professor in an applied university and at the same time work as a mom to my three Dutch-Filipino kids. Join me as I share my journeys and discoveries of this lowland country by touring you with the Dutch culture, history, academic system, travels within and outside Netherlands, and ways to integrate in the Dutch society.
